Meirion Mill is happy to be able to present some exquisite soap from Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap range. You can be sure that your hands are being looked after with these carefully formulated soaps which have been lovingly developed by a team of experts with almost 90 years of experience behind them.
History of Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap
Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap was first produced all the way back in the beginning of the 1930s. Bradford chemist Fred Mitchell noticed that the natural fat in sheep’s wool, and particularly its lanolin content, kept the hands of local sheep shearers so delicately soft that it would be beneficial to utilise this natural ingredient in soap.
The idea was an absolute brainwave and to this day the formula is still centrally based around the use of naturally sourced lanolin from wool fat. Although it will not get rid of existing skin conditions, its gently soothing qualities make it a great complement to any medical treatment for sore skin, as it can alleviate some of the unpleasant feeling of itchiness if you do have a skin complaint.
It is perhaps the clearest testament to the effectiveness and unique value of the product that, from humble beginnings all those years ago, and having never changed its core formula and core beliefs, Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap is now a global success, with demand for it not just coming from the UK but all throughout Europe, Australia, Japan and the USA.
